Biography
Steve first joined the school in October 2000 as a PhD student in atmospheric chemistry, supervised by Martyn Chipperfield. He became a Lecturer in January 2007, and teaches modules in air quality and climate change.
Steve's research utilises numerical models in conjunction with observations from aircraft, satellites and surface sites to investigate the fundamental processes controlling the composition of the Earth's troposphere, and its role in the Earth system. Quantification of these processes is a key part of improving our understanding of present-day and future climate & air quality. Steve is also interested in using statistical methods for quantifying and reducing model uncertainties.
